Global Women and Sport Actions Timeline

The Global Women and Sport Action Timeline (Women & Sport Timeline) documents, shares, and connects the actions undertaken around the world to address inequalities against women and girls in sport. This historical timeline covers all regions of the world with entries of actions from 1865 – 2020.

Actions for women and sport in this Timeline include policy, legislation, events, campaigns, formation of organisations, international frameworks, and events. Whereas inequalities and discrimination against women and girls persist in sport, the Timeline of Actions shows the enduring and sustained efforts of actors across civil society, government, academic, and private sectors to contribute to creating a fairer sporting society.
